Pretty in Pink

Hi Peeps,

I hope you are all well.  Zoe and I have runny noses, so we are taking it easy today.

Here are some pretty flowers for you, from us.

The wee girl has been out collecting flowers with her Nanny and Grandad.

Have a lovely day.

After the rain

Hi peeps,

We had some rain yesterday morning and this morning.  I was hoping the rain would make it feel cooler, but alas, no.
Finally some rain. I can pretend it is much cooler now. The truth is that it is still stinking hot.
It is still so hot. Stinking hot and humid.
Another rainy day find.
The heat is exhausting and draining, most days last week were around 30 degrees Celsius.  The temperature at night only goes down a few degrees. There is no evening cool change.
Another #foundobject after the rain.
The whole Hong Kong summer is ahead of us, with months of this hot weather.    I hope I can survive my first full Hong Kong summer.
More rain. More #foundobjects
After the rain yesterday and today, I found these lovelies on the ground.  All so pretty.  They took my mind off the heat, and reminded me why I am loving living here - small wonders are always close by, ready to be found (and photographed)

Have a great week.

Sunday Snippets

Hi peeps,

Yes, it may be Tuesday, but here are my Sunday Snippets, I am joining in with Tinnie Girl again this week.  My week in a photographic nut-shell.

Party preparations were full swing.  Hair bobbles for the girls.

Today it's all about circles. Lovely round pieces of fabric, soon to be made into hair bobbles/hair ties.

Fridge magnets for the boys.

Fridge magnets (28mm) for the boys goodie bags. #homemade #partypreparations

The Unicorn Dress was finished in time for the party.  It is my most beautiful failure. More about that another time.  I am devastated, in a crafty way.

One Unicorn dress. Finished just in time for tomorrows birthday party.

My Instagram photos are now for sale on Instacanv.as.  This is great for anyone who lives in the USA, but shipping to the rest of the world is very expensive (they hope to change that.  I hope they do)

My instacanv.as gallery is now open! My photos are for sale! #instacanvas

The birthday party was a success.  The cake was amazing and delicious.

The Birthday cake.

The day after the birthday party, Abbey sat her first ever ballet exam (she wanted to do this, it was her choice)  I am such a proud mumma, she handled all of this new experience with such ease (I fear I was more nervous than her!)

Last minute ballet practice before their exam. #proudmamma

Have a great week.  Cat.

My new love, buttered crumpets and rocket in my wine.

Hi peeps,

My new love is Instagram.  I am quite positively addicted to it.  It gives me such happy flash backs of being 18 again, studying Medical Photography at University.  Back then, I loved experimenting with different photographic techniques and processes.  Now I can do it all on my iphone.  So much fun!

Oh, I forgot to mention we are back in Melbourne now for Christmas.  It feels quite weird to be back in my old home town, it is so familiar yet so unfamiliar, all at the same time.  For the first few days, I found it difficult to contact any one - we were enjoying just hanging out with my mum and step-dad.  We had been missed and we had missed them.  You really appreciate your loved ones when you have been away from them.

But now, let the fun begin.  We can't wait to catch up with so many lovely people we have missed hanging out with.

This is my week in Instagram photographs.  A lot of the week has involved enjoying many of the foods we can't get in Hong Kong.  Like buttered crumpets.  The ones we can buy in Hong Kong are not this good.

Buttered crumpets.

Cheese is ridiculously expensive in Hong Kong.  I am going to enjoy my favourite while I am here.  Often.

Mmmmmmmm.

Playing in the sand pit is so much fun.  Especially when you are 5 or 2 years old.  Even more fun when you have not done it for over 5 months.

Sand pit time.

There has been rocket in my wine.

There is some rocket in my wine.

Iced coffee shared with dear friends who have been missed (Hi Nell!)

Iced coffee on a warm day.

I now feel like a craft pusher.  I took some unfinished fabric covered button components over to Nell's house yesterday and she loved making them as much as I do.  Her 6 year old daughter had a great time making some too.  They are now addicted.  So I am the craft pusher - all healthy fun at least.

This is our finished hair bobble posie.  So pretty.

A poise of hair bobbles.

Have a lovely week.  I know I will :)
